Behind the lens
I am a Newcastle based photographer who is passionate about capturing images that tell a story and connect with my audience. My journey into photography began in 2012 when my late father loaned me his camera to take on my honeymoon to New Zealand. Spending time in nature, treking and exploring comes naturally to me, I feel at piece and fulfilled. With a camera in my hand, I instantly felt a connection and enjoyed pushing creative boundaries in pursuit of capturing natures true beauty. My interests with the camera started in landscape, seascape and wildlife photography. Later expanding to portraiture under the influence of my own growing family.
Spending time outdoors exploring and discovering nature is important to our young family. It’s how we choose to connect and teach our children about our wonderful planet. In an age of increased technology use, I believe we must “disconnect” to connect… with mother nature. Photography is my way of connecting and expressing that deeper beauty in all things around us. Each image is unique and captures just a short moment in time that can be preserved for people to enjoy, provoke thought or reflect upon for years to come.
