David’s journey into photography began in 2012 when his late father loaned him a camera for his honeymoon in New Zealand. That simple gesture sparked a lifelong passion for photography and an appreciation for its ability to preserve meaningful moments.

Since then, David has been self-taught and photographing for more than a decade, developing a style as a Newcastle photographer focused on authentic storytelling, natural light, and emotional connection to place.

From Griffith to Newcastle Photographer

David’s upbringing in Griffith, NSW, instilled a deep appreciation for country life and open landscapes. Although a country boy at heart, he moved to Sydney to complete a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Chiropractic at Macquarie University.

After five years in the city, he felt a strong pull back to regional life and community. In 2006, he made the move to Newcastle—a place offering the perfect balance of coastal beauty, lifestyle, and opportunity.

Today, David operates as a Newcastle photographer based in Lake Macquarie, capturing the surrounding Hunter Region through both fine art and commercial work.

Alongside his photography, David operates a well-established chiropractic practice in Hamilton South, which also serves as the collection point for his photography products. With a longstanding commitment to health and wellbeing, he takes pride in supporting individuals and families across Newcastle and Lake Macquarie in living active, pain-free lives.

David is also recognised as a trusted and top-rated chiropractor in Newcastle, known for providing professional, compassionate care tailored to each individual’s needs.

David lives in Lake Macquarie with his wife Kathryn, a primary school teacher, and their three young children. Together, they spend much of their time exploring the natural beauty of the region they call home.

Kathryn also shares a love of photography, particularly wildlife and portrait work, often offering a fresh perspective that enriches David’s creative eye.
